Full STEAM Ahead - Garner Holt Makerspace Pantry (2026-2027)
The Garner Holt makerspace program at our school is a unique initiative, making us the only elementary school in the Coachella Valley to offer such a program. Designed specifically for 4th and 5th-grade students, the program allows young learners to engage in the full design process, from initial concepts to final creation. Funding from the grant is dedicated to the maker pantry, which provides the essential consumable materials for a wide variety of design engineering projects. Students have the opportunity to work with advanced tools and techniques, including heat presses, vinyl sticker design, 3D printing, embroidery, and laser wood design, fostering a hands-on environment for innovation and creativity.
Social & Emotional Education through Music through a Pandemic (2021-2022)
Through the Carrillo Ranch music program, students are taught to play instruments, how to read music, learn concert etiquette, and to perform. More importantly, they are taught life skills that include: excellence in the classroom or on the stage (hard work and responsibility) and the importance of investing (practicing, dedication and time). Through their music education, students will receive lessons that have the potential to impact their middle school, high school, and post-high school lives. The monetary gift to purchase instruments is not just a charitable contribution, it is an investment being made into the futures of these students.
