Rocket Rules- Sense of Safety & Beyond (2026-2027, 2025-2026)
The Hero In You Foundation, through its Rocket Rules “Sense of Safety & Beyond!” program, is dedicated to empowering elementary school children with life-saving safety awareness, social-emotional learning, and emergency preparedness skills that help them make quick, smart decisions at school, at home, and in the community. Now entering its 15th year of service, the program has become a highly requested and effective resource among educators across the Coachella Valley, especially for its engaging live presentations on kindness, bullying prevention, street safety, identifying safe people and places, calling 9-1-1, and drug awareness. Using a unique animated safety ambassador, named Rocket, the program combines live interactive Zoom lessons, bilingual activity books, standards-based teacher resources, videos, worksheets, and student certificates to support all learners, including English Language Learners, Special Education, Gifted students, and children from all socio-economic backgrounds. Funding will allow the organization to expand the program to reach approximately 6,000 first-grade students across the Coachella Valley Unified School District, Palm Springs Unified School District, and Desert Sands Unified School District, as well as local youth organizations and private schools, by providing every student with a 24-page bilingual “Sense of Safety & Beyond!” activity book and approximately 150 live classroom Zoom sessions taught by Rocket in English or Spanish throughout the school year.
