Martha P Johnson LGBTQ+ Youth Drop In Center (2026-2027)
ACF project funds will support the purchase of additional seating, storage cabinets, a dedicated printer, and a gaming system to enhance the functionality, accessibility, and overall environment of the Marsha P. Johnson LGBTQ+ Youth Drop-In Center. Since opening in January 2024, youth participation has steadily increased, creating a need to replace worn-out donated furniture and add new furnishings that will streamline the flow of the space, make it more vibrant, and create a more welcoming, youth-friendly environment. Additional seating will help accommodate growing attendance at peer support groups, workshops, homework assistance, and daily activities, while storage cabinets will allow staff to securely organize program supplies, educational materials, and outreach resources. A dedicated printer will enable youth to print homework, applications, and other important documents quickly and easily, ensuring staff can remain focused on providing support and services. The gaming system will offer another positive way for youth to connect with friends, reduce isolation, build peer relationships, and engage with supportive services in a fun and inclusive setting. Together, these improvements will strengthen the center’s ability to provide a safe, functional, and affirming space where LGBTQ+ youth can gather, access resources, and thrive.
